Cruise's Winning Progeny |
My involvement with showing dogs started back in 1973. My main breed in those days was Irish Setters, which I bred under the Prefix "Glenkillen". I bred several champions. One of the owners of these later on became a foundation member of the GSP Club of Queensland. During this time I also exhibited a English Setter.
In the early years of my children growing up I showed extensively in Queensland, showing my own dogs and handling for many other exhibitors. Handling both Irish & English Setters, Labs, Afgans & Greyhounds. I handled exclusively for Frank Peden who was a old stalwart of the Irish Setter Club of Queensland. As my children started reaching their teens my showing days slowed down to almost none for a while due to the fact we had 1 car and five of my family played Hockey .. As time went on I started showing again slowly drifting away from my beloved Setters, then owning a beautiful Exhibition Greyhound from well known Xilone Kennels in Victoria affectionately known as "Eagle" Ch Xilone Sring Eagle. I became interested in German Shorthaired Pointers in the mid 80's during which time I helped Diana Norman (Edelhof Kennels) show her dogs. I had my first black/white girl in 1989 from Diana. Nyssa was from Ch Valache Von Siegfried (SA).. My next boy in partnership with Diana came from Trupoint Kennels in Victoria, "George" was Trupoint Power Pack. We then followed on with Seltsam Strictly Ballroom "Mac" who excelled in Gig Racing and Lure Coursing. He always gave 100%, becoming best buddy to my husband and sons. We had many adventures with this lad. Next came "Tyme" Seltsam Time After Time our foundation bitch for KRUZ German Shorthaired Pointers. My next GSP was the love of my live "Cruise" Ch Zigeuner Nimrod R, bred by Nan Janssen. Cruise was from the successful R litter sired by Grand Ch Seltsam Quicksilver"Nelson" and from Ch Wauchope Di Palu NFD 'Palu'. Cruise had a very successful show career and has excelled as a Sire. He is still producing quality puppies over 4 years after his death in June 2004. Producer of 13 show champions ,4 Grand Champions, 1 USA Champion, Canadian Champion,Obedience Champions, Tracking Champion, ET titled, Retrieving Champions and progeny in USA & Canada who have qualified in JH trials. From our 1st litter from Cruise and Tyme, we kept "Tahnee" Ch Kruz Klaim To Fame (pictured below) After a mating between Cruise and the beautiful "Flea" Grand Ch Krikka Lady in late 2000 two puppies were bought to Queensland in partnership with Joanne Windle (Chicabud Kennels). These two went on to become Grand Ch Krikka Hot Gossip "Cal" and his beautiful sister Grand Ch Krikka A Hint of Scandal "Rumer", both reside with Jo and her son David, Both Cal and Rumer are from a litter of four. Along with their sister "Honey" Grand Ch Krikka Honey Honey Kiss Me they have become Australia's only trio of sibling Grand Champions, a grand feat in itself. In 2004 we imported frozen semen to Australia from Canada from "Charlie" Latin Am/Mex/FCI International/Can Ch Nuthatch's Presumed Innocent ownd and bred by Heather and her sister Joanne Brennan. In early 2009 I imported frozen semen from the USA from the very handsome "Sherman" Ch Edelmarke Second Coming JH, bred by Lisa & Kevin Gaede (Northern California) We hope to have babies from Sherman soon. Puppies by Cherrie born in October 2009! 'Frieda' Kruz Fields of Gold (AI) retained by myself & 'Dillion' Kruz Field of Dreams (AI) owned by Trifarli Kennels (NSW) Our next venture was Jo and myself imported the beautiful "Winnie" Edelmarke Glory's Echo (imp USA) bred by Lisa & Kevin Gaede, co-bred by Robin & Rita Remondi (Robin Crest Kennels). Winnie arrived in Australia early 2010. We look forward to the start of Winnie's show career in 2010. Her Aussie Ch title came in August 2010. We look forward to what the future brings! |
